one way check valve question

What part of the system is the one way check valve that is located
between the UIM and firewall associated with, and which direction
should the arrow be pointing? When facing the engine should it be
pointing to the left or the right?
It is the only check valve on the back of the engine.

Thanks

Just check the colored vacuum diagram - should be easy to spot.

All the check valves that are located off the UIM have the arrow pointed towards the UIM.

The one on the firewall side is for the ACV Switching solenoid (emissions).

Dale< The reason I am asking for clarification is because at D Vanditmars turbo troubleshooting
website http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-...leshooting.htm
under the "vacum chamber" section he mentions a check valve located between the
intake and the firewall.

"Vacuum Chamber This is a black plastic tank that is buried between the alternator and power steering pump. Kind of difficult to see, removing the Pressure Chamber helps to see it, has one hose connection, and should have a hose attached, (Engine View Picture). This hose comes from the rats nest of metal tubes, and there is a one-way check valve between the rats nest of tubes and the Intake, (the only check valve located between Throttle Body and the Firewall). This one-way check valve can start to leak after a while, causing loss of vacuum to various controls when under boost for a while."

From the hose diagram
http://web.newsguy.com/geesaman/vac_...iagram_dlg.jpg
Do you think he is refering to the white/green check valve that is on the yellow colored hose
going to the back of the UIM?

Thanks for your input.

John

Locate the vacuum chamber on the diagram. Then follow the colored lines. All the lines that have the same color go together. You'll see which valve is associated with the vacuum chamber.
