After looking at this https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/starter-interlock-wiring-why-wire-goes-ecu-so-big-645269/ , I decided to simply run a 10 gauge wire from the big black/blue wire at the security starter cut relay plug straight to the starter. So far it works great. This was fairly simple to do, and easier than wiring up that relay starter booster. I figure this way helps compared to stock because it gets rid of alot of connections the power had to transfer through and old longer wiring to get to the starter. I wanted to see if doing this simple wire mod would make the starter work every time, and since it is easier that wiring up a starter booster relay.
Just some 10 gauge wire and 2 wire connectors and wire loom I already had. I already had a hole in the firewall with a rubber grommet for other wires so I easily ran the wire through there. I can easily switch back to how it was before if needed, I didn't cut into any of the stock wiring. See picture, I also wrapped some duct tape around it so it doesn't come loose.

No the alarm is not disabled when disconnecting that relay and doing this mod/bypass. Did you not have a problem with your alarm before, and then do this mod and now have the problem?
And actually I just did some testing and my little alarm issue is different than yours, mine is related to the aftermarket keyless entry not turning off the factory alarm when I hit my unlock remote button so the alarm goes off just from hitting the remote button which unlocks the doors. But my alarm works normal when using the key to lock and unlock the door. And this relay being disconnected should not affect the alarm.
You should be able to search and find out how to totally disable the factory alarm. I have the hood switch wires disconnected and just also disconnected the trunk latch wires but that does not totally disable the alarm. I'm sure there is another module under the dash somewhere that can be disconnected. I might have to do that too.

"This one is easy. Take off the door panel and there is a green/yellow wire. You hook the Ground pulse wire from the keyless entry to that wire. The green/yellow wire needs a negative pulse to disarm.
Merry X-mas from Zero. "

Or if you just unplug the green box that says door lock on the side, behind the drivers side kick panel close to the door, the alarm won't work at all. But the passenger side door won't lock or unlock with the drivers side door. There is a green/yellow wire there, it's probably the one that needs a ground pulse to turn off the factory alarm if using a keyless entry like I am.

Can you please show me a photo? it would really help a lot. Please?

once i took the relay out
removed the cover and strapped it in the closed position with a tie wrap
put the cover back on, and you couldnt see if it was tampered with
i think since then i removed it completely

Firstly I need to give credit to Brent/Dudemaaanownsanrx7 b/c I remember seeing a picture of this posted in an old thread.
Since ~2002 I've had this intermittent problem. Turn the key, get a click and nothing else. Usually have to do that two or three times and then the car will start.
Kind of frustrating, kind of embarrassing, definitely a pain in the ***. I will say the car never left me stranded but the possibility of that bugged me.
So, over the years I replaced many components usually for other reasons but always hoping this problem would be corrected:
*new starter
*new battery/starter/alternator harness
*new ignition switch
The problem still persisted. About a month ago I gave Brent's idea a try, and the car hasn't done it since
Here you can see the oem security relay (H302) that's located behind the kick panel by the dead pedal:
remove it and jumper the two connections that correlate to the thicker wires:
Takes all of ten minutes. Thanks to Tom the Bagelman/Theorie for his assistance. I didnt snap any pics when I did this a month ago so we documented the historic installation on his silver hooptie

my two cents....
if none of this works try cleaning your starter terminals completely. Sandpaper works well for this.
fixed my click, click, start and was free.
dont forget to disconnect the battery.
take off both wires connected directly to the starter and sand down till you see the bare metal again (for reference mine had maybe 10% metal showing before i started. obvisiouly a problem but an easy fix).
you only need to sand the points of contact.
its worth a try.
i also noticed a faster/more powerful start in general
good luck

So I figured out the best way to disable the factory alarm, disregard most of what I said above because those ways to disable it are not the best.
The best way is to unplug the gray connector from the hood latch, and jumper the two wires. see pic below. I had it disconnected before but didn't realize I had to jumper the two wires to make this trick work. this way everything else works normal. If you unplug any of those boxes like the green one the alarm won't or may not work but it messes up other stuff, like the passenger power door lock may not lock and unlock when the drivers side does. I tried other stuff too but couldn't get my keyless entry to disable the factory alarm when hitting the unlock button, so the best solution is jumpering the hood latch wires. This sends a ground signal to the alarm module and the alarm thinks the hood is open and it will not arm the alarm when the doors are locked.
Sorry for getting off topic, just had to correct the info.

i unplugged the green box door lock, it doesn't work anyway so no problem if i disconnect it, but still i can hear the security beep when i plug in my key into the ignition and when i lock the driver's door.
Let me see what happens when i unplug the two white connectors.
