re: kitchy coffee table idea: If I did something like that, my lady would be proud of me for doing something "creative" with the otherwise junk wheel. Then she'd cover my work with a nice tablecloth "to protect the glass."

I'm sure the information is out there, and I will search eventually, but does anyone happen to know right off hand which cars came stock with or without reinforced wheels?

I had one of the reinforced wheels crack in the same spot.

Apparently it's between the 93 and 94 model years, but I couldn't find specific VINs for the change.

I looked at it!

The first pic was a little decieving. You can't see the edges very well.

Found this problem on one of my front wheel a months ago during the wash. Seriously thinking of getting completely different rims for my 7. Any light 18" wheels for sale out there???

Mine came from the factory with the "reinforced" wheels. and it was built in late 1991.

I noticed nothing different. I was lucky I happened to see it because it was on my passenger front corner. Had I not noticed and took some corners aggressively, who knows who/what I might have hit.
