Old school check in. I want my car back!

I sold my car about 4-5 yrs ago. It was probably one of the cleanest examples in the country. I view selling it as one of the biggest mistakes I've made. I am checking back in for two reasons. First! If anyone is still around from back in the day I hope your car is doing great. Second! If anyone gas a cherry rx7 for sale please post it up. I am only interested in 100% stock appearing examples. I think I'd prefer a stock twin car as well.

Yes. I remember you as well. I am driving a 335i now. It's a decent grocery geter but definitely not a purpose built machine that the 7 is. I'd like my old car back specifically. I reached out to the guy that purchased it. Everyone has a price.

I think Fritz has a real clean one. I dont understand what i did. After a decade of getting my car exactly how i wanted it i sold it 6 months after it was finished. So i will start with trying to get mine back. Then will check in with Fritz. Thanks for the advice

Awesome thread about the find and restoration

You burnt yourself out from the sound of it. Kind of so used to working on them it's hard to stop and smell the roses so to speak. Fritz has a nice black car for sale last I checked. Good luck and thanks!

my honest feeling was that fast and furious was a negative overhang on these cars that wasn't there when i first got it. The fact is that they are a true enthusiast car though!

I actually wanted to go with black this time if i cant bid my car away from the current owner. For some reason my car was damn reliable even after etown and road course work. That could have changed though.

I will reach out to Fritz.

Naw, the currently owner doesn't beat on it. However, I doubt he's ready to give it up so you might as well start shopping elsewhere.

If so, I don't think you are getting it back any time soon.

Wow some familiar faces. Nice. Tks for checking in.

Fritz got a nice black one coming up.

I way under sold mine for 16k. I literally dropped ball in every sense. I sold it because I was buying my dream house and I panicked sort of that I was wiping out some serious savings account. Plus my industry (hedge fund) was in a period of extreme turmoil, still is. I don't know. I think part of the issue was that the car was some what childish? There was that fast and furious stigma that got a little annoying. I guess I was immature in the thinking of caring what others thought. Again I don't know. It was a rash am emotional decision. It happened too fast as well.

The reason I am coming back is simple. I love speed machines. I would need to spend 250k to get a car that performs like a correctly modded 7 can. And a bloated vette doesn't scratch my itch. I love the pureness of the 7. It's no compromise. Also there is something to be said about the power curve. These rotarys pull to redline and beyond. That's fun. Go drive another car. The engines tell u when to shift bc they fall on their face. Not te case for a rotary. Particularly one with a free flowing exhaust an light weight flywheel. My Beamer is a 335i. I put computer and dps on. I can get a fmic for 500 and probably run 12.2-12.6. But i promise you. It's a way different experience. Sure it's got some *****. But try squeezing the throttle on an on ramp with a curve in it. You'll wrap it. No traction. Who cares about going fast in a straight line. My seven had rediculous traction. Truly confidence inspiring.

At the end of the day I need the right car to come back to. If I can get mine for anywhere near what i sold it for consider it done. That obviously means paying more than I sold it for which is a crazy concept given it probably has some decent mileage now. But I am also confident that it's in the same shape. I guess it's fatherly instinct.

This black one is interesting but seems pricey. What do you guys think of black? I think the black is a good direction to go in but I think the price needs to be realistic for me to pull trigger. And I don't want poorly modded nor do I really want stock. Full bolt on and stock twins would be ideal. I can be patient for right deal.

One more point on the reasoning to come back...I feel like I can keep the car forever. Ie the engine goes I can rebuild etx. It's one and done forever in terms of Sunday driver is considered.
