Can't be good. How large is it there is no scale on your pic. Is that your original engine? If the engine still runs I wouldn't get too worked up about it. Good luck. I'll make sure never to look into my oil pan.

the parts are about half the size of a penny
no this motor is a rebuild with 15000 miles on it

Looks like part of a bronze bushing.

Don't have any idea where it could be from.

I've torn alot of engines down for Rob at Pineapple Racing, albiet, never a FD engine, but i don't think that is from your motor. My guess is it was put in along with some oil. There is no way that it could of gone through the bearings, oil cooler, filter etc.

I would'nt worry to much about it, unless there was alot of metal fillings along with it, because the oil pickup tube has a pretty fine mesh that won't allow the bigger foreign matterial to get into it.

Just my .02, and it may not be even worth that.
