Oil smoke ?s (I know it's the twins)
Oil smoke ?s (I know it's the twins)
3 months ago my twins started to billow oil smoke at WOT after transition, and also after about 60 seconds at idle.
I replaced them with a "known good" set and no more smoke at idle, but still smoking at transition (most pronounced during 2nd gear pulls).
Also, I have diagnosed my Turbo control solenoid is malfuctioning when hot, either giving a looooong transition, or not transitioning at all intermittantly.
I pulled my FMIC and piping last night and was surprised to find very very little oil inside. What I did find is that there is a TON of oil blowing out of the CRV, coming from the y-pipe.
Given the above info, can anyone tell me what/where the root cause may be?
I've got another set of twins, TC solenoid, and silicone hoses to install this weekend, just was a bit curious to see if anyone had any insight.
Thanks,
Mike

If smoke is blowing out the CRV, it's probably your Secondary Turbo. I don't think the CRV opens/operates till secondary turbo transition back pressure developes.??
