allright..must be touring...bose, sunroof,no rear spoiler.....but the question remains, do i need to find 2 coolers and lines or can i just get the pass. side cooler and the lines?

I just sent them an email inquiring about having my oil cooler serviced, I'll update this thread as i progress through the process. Very excited about rejuvinating my stock oil cooler and saving some money.

I just emailed them my concerns and I hope I will hear a reply shortly. Also to make thing better, I was charged a duty fee (border crossing) of $32 because the commercial invoive didn't state return to sender like I had asked. I know it's only $32 but it all adds up. I told them I would like to have my coolers shipped back down to them, at their cost, and have my coolers applied with the black coating because it wasn't done the first time. I had also asked why I was charged an extra $25 a cooler to get refurbished. See what happens, i'll post when I hear something back.

 

i called them about getting my cooler flushed. She said if it's just a flush and clean it's $150. (plus shipping i imagine) If it needs repairs it can go up to $300 but they would quotes me first. I dont know if bending the fins back count as repairs or not. Im kinda slightly reluctant now. I'll keep ya'll posted as to what i decide to do.

 

I believe the fin straightening is part of the standard costs. However, I would imagine extra costs would be associated if they had to replace/repair the thermostat, or fix leaks, etc..

Actually, they do exist. I have one. It was made december 93. The R2 came in the last moths of 93.

I just got my oil cooler back, 2 week turn around. I specifically requested the thermal coating and got it. they quoted me $150-350 depending on damage, they only charged me $150

i'm wanting to get this done. When I call, what do I specifically ask for in order to get each cooler done for around $150. I'm needing the fins bent back, coolers flushed, and thermal coated. Basically make them look like Rich's and Section8's

I sent them an email and got a reply pretty quickly. Basically you just send them your cooler(s) with a letter stating what you want. They will test them and then call you with the charge required for repair. Once you pay them, they do the work and send them back.

Make sure in your letter that you give them phone numbers so they can call you.

This thread rocks, thanks! I have been debating on what to do with my bent up stock cooler and here is the answer, plus it's about 20 minutes from where I live.TOO COOL!!!!!!!!!

 

I just requested a refurbish with the thermal coating. They straightened the fins, flushed it, pressure tested it, and coated it.

They told me the cost is determined by how much damage there is. Mine actually wasn't too bad, the only fins that were actually damaged were the ones directly in line with the duct.

 

Hell of a lot cheaper than a new cooler too. Since I'm still only running stock boost, I don't need anything larger than the stock cooler anyway. That extra money I saved can go towards more track time

 

ya my fins aren't all that bad. Well when I remove the bumper for my intercooler install I will take off my oil coolers as well and get them done.

 

I just sent mine in today and should have them back within a month. If you Call talk with Pat. Shes very helpful and professional. Ill keep you posted and get the finished pictures posted up?

ya my oil coolers weren't that bad. They look better than Komodo's. Maybe it will cost $100 each oil cooler.

My coolers look pretty similar. Like the one with the row of crushed fins: that's my passenger side one! While both have bent fins like no other.

Please post photos and cost after they're done. I wanna know what to expect.

 

i wonder if they do the same thing for radiators?

 

Boy are those some nasty looking oil coolers.

I just picked through mine last week. No need to remove them and ship them out here.
