Official FD 3d printing/scanning thread.

In an effort to not clutter up everyone else thread, I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread dedicated to FD parts for 3D printing and scanning. A place to post the files that you've made as well as a place for people to request parts. Places I usually post my files are thingiverse and printables, so searching around there is a good start if you're looking for a particular part, but there are lots of other file hosting sites as well.

I'll kick us off:

RX8 to FD DBW pedal adapter

GM 90mm TB to FD UIM adapter

water pump dust cover

FD seat belt retainer

Good idea! As NLA parts become more common, I think 3D printed and used parts will be the only solutions. We should consider this to be a Sticky and have people add to the thread as new items are developed.

Here are some pieces that might be good targets for 3D printing. Some are already being made, here and there.

Recently remade the on-pedal stopper for the clutch safety switch. https://grabcad.com/library/neutral-...itch-stopper-1

Material

Hey what material did you use for the water pump cover, I’ve only printed PLA so far which isn’t suitable for high temps

It seems like he was just using that as a dust cover. If you were to use that on there permanently for whatever reason, you would have to make it/ cut it out of metal

I see, I’ve heard of carbon fibre infused nylon material that are able to withstand such temps, I thought maybe it was one of those

I think Code red offers downloads for some of their pieces.

Thanks to Seven!! for giving me permission to upload this for everyone to have in their library. He made these scans, I just did some slight cleanup on them, and the credit goes completely to him. FD3S door defrost vents https://www.printables.com/model/105...-defrost-vents

(These are for the driver and passenger side. The way I made mounting holes for them was to, drill out the legs where the screws would go on the model, and then melt a brass threaded insert into the hole, and then a screw holds it super tight after that)

Since Shapeways went **** up, you can't get the cruise control switch (or headlight pop up switch) blank anymore. Anybody make them or have access to that 3D file?

Good idea for a thread. Added to FAQ.

Figured it might be worth mentioning Drakelore as a guy making 3d parts for FDs
https://www.draklore.com/

I think Kevin Doe had posted some files once upon a time too if anyone wants to research. https://www.rx7club.com/members/kevin-doe-32323/

To go along with @need-a-t2 I've been working on a 3d printable version of both the passenger side and driver side door plastic. Just have been super busy and haven't had much time for anything. BUT I do have a solid 3d scan of the LHD driver-side door plastic though, just need to get it reverse-engineered and fixed

Cas mount, just change .txt to .stl.

Print it at 90% infill, 0.2mm layer height or better, with Prusa Nylon Carbon Fiber and its beyond strong. I've run this material for mounts on numerous projects successfully.

The mount basically just centers the sensors correctly, not stressed in any direction etc...

Can most probably be 3D printed, but would probably be safer if machined

Good to know. I'm guessing it'll work with most Mazdas of the era. I'll add a few more tags to it.

Does anyone have photos of this small bracket or one that they can take pictures of? It's on the driver-side door plastic, and the only one that I have is absolutely destroyed and I can't find anything online that could help me model one
