OEM Keyless Entry help! F138-V7-600a

Hi, anyone familiar on installing the keyless kit option on a LHD FD? I have the JDM passenger door actuator with rods too.

I don't know of anyone who has actually installed one. You may have to dig through the instructions and use the Google Translate app to get the gist of what they are telling you to do.

The big question is if it works on a 93-95 car - I don't know if it was designed for a later car since it is a newer dealer accessory. It could be designed for different wiring. Also, there isn't wiring going to the US driver's side door for the unlock signal to unlock the door latch - that would have to be added in. I don't know if that kit includes something to handle that or what.

I read this post awhile ago, he's just talking about using the JDM actuator, not the whole keyless entry kit.

The wiring looks very basic, so far I don't see any routed to anything complex like the CPU2 or the ECU. It might be as simple as switching a few pin outs around. I'm in the process of getting the schematics translated from my friend. Here's what I got so far for programing the key.

It may tie in to the existing power door lock relay or something as well - I THINK that is behind the driver's B-pillar plastic.

It seems it would have to talk to the CPU in some way so it's an "authorized unlock" so the alarm doesn't go off.

Once you dig deeper into it I'd like to see what parts it comes with and how it hooks up, I'm curious myself!

Had to do some fabrication but I got everything to work 100%, I'll post details in a day or two but anyone can do it. It's almost bolt in. Basically I had to modify the RHD passenger actuator. It's pretty easy once it's explained.

The kit isn't designed talking to the CPU, it's not in the wiring diagram. Thank god. That would be more tricky. And the kit comes with a new door lock relay that's a different design for signal path. It works for LHD.

Here's the key fob that I have currently. The kit only comes with one though but you can order more of them. Also the blank key is sold separately.

Here's the second key fob that will work with the OEM set up.

This isn't the write up but it's a basic understanding of what the hardest part was and it's modifying the RHD passenger actuator "Driver side for American models" (Left of the photo) to perform like the LHD passenger actuator. (Right of the photo) As you can see, the difference are the metal contacts and the wires for the metal contacts. The job of the metal contacts are to communicate with the opposite actuator with whatever the "primary" actuator is doing.

I couldn't unbolt the top of the motor housing from the LHD passenger actuator and bolt on the RHD passenger actuator. The housing is different in the locations you see that are cut out. I simply used the pieces that were cut out and super glued them on the housing that I'm using (RHD passenger actuator) It's important that you do this step because the pieces of the housing that I glued on are used to hold the gear rods in place. (After I super glued them, I used JB weld)

Unfortunately you need to sacrifice a LHD passenger actuator or if you buy the kit like I did, they provide you with a LHD passenger actuator (Technically it's the Driver side actuator for RHD but it's designed the exact same as the LHD passenger actuator, cables are just different lengths) The tools I used are a dremel. It's a lot of test fitting. I'll post more details when I have time this week.

Here's a link of my video of the keyless entry working. Notice everything is OEM!

Did you have to run additional wiring into the driver's door to run the actuator?

There is an adapter harness I had to plug in from the control unit to the OEM harness on the door that came with the kit. But didn't have to do anything like running wires into the door. It was plug and play. The only thing that I had to do was find a constant 12 volts in the driver's door to tap into for powering the control unit.

Also I forgot to ask, were you able to make the car beep and have the hazards flash when unlocking/locking the car? I remember you trying to accomplish this task before. I'm working on doing this now.

If one was to look for a RHD left actuator, what exactly does that part look like? I see a lot of the black assemblies with the lock, but I'm not sure if those come with all the required parts. I didn't pay enough attention to the locking system when I had the door panels off I guess.

Ill take a picture of mine when I remove it today to clean it more so my door shuts smoother. It basically looks like the LHD passenger assembly but everything is mirrored so it fits in the other door. Nothing is black on it but the cables.

Ah, that's what I thought. I think I am just seeing the interior door handles without the actuators for sale then.

Here's the RHD passenger actuator. Notice there's an "L" on it for left.

I've seen prices all over the place, but typically it's on the spendy side - like $300-500 or so.

It was listed for 700 but offered 500 on eBay and the seller took it. They are pretty expensive.
