OEM+ Fuel Questions
OEM+ Fuel Questions
Fellow forum goers...long time since I have posted! Getting back into the FD as of late and looking to do some maintenance and possible upgrades on the OEM Fuel System.
Currently have an upgraded Walbro 255 Fuel pump and new fuel filter. I am running stock twins with a PFC to be added with FC Tweak and the upgraded Ignitor. I wouldn't say I have any real "I need to hit XXX HP or else" goals, but just want to make a fun street-able car that is OEM + with some additional power.
To my knowledge I have stock fuel injectors throughout and no clue when the items were replaced. Engine rebuild was from two owners ago and has about 40K miles on the motor (I think). I am leaning towards replacing the FPR, FPD, and all the injectors. I met with Louis from DNA garage years ago and he said to keep the stock 550 CC ones and upgrade the secondaries.
*Looking for opinions of similar builds...appears that stock injectors are pushing $300 each from Atkins and was curious if anyone has any recommendations on replacing them with aftermarket?
*Secondaries...is it worth upgrading them to 1300 or 1700 CC?
*Will the secondary injectors fit into a stock fuel rail or will I need to add an aftermarket one?
*If I upgrade the secondaries do I need an aftermarket FPR or will OEM suffice?
I have seen some build thread where cars are making 350 HP on the stock secondaries....and have seen the Banzai Racing Dyno thread with similar results. If I am doing upgrade maintenance anyways...does it make sense to go larger?
As always thanks to the many members on here that give advice and time...doesn't go unnoticed!

If you plan on staying with the Stock twins and within the power limits of those, I would personally stay with the stock injectors as they can support the power safely. Just get your injectors cleaned when you tear down for the FPD and FPR replacement, it will save you some money versus buying new injectors if yours are in good shape. This is exactly what I did when I restored my rats nest and fuel system in this video. If you plan on upgrading to a single down the road, that can be a rabbit hole, especially when you start looking into options and if you plan on possibly using E85 etc. If E85 may be in your future, that's $$$ to get the supporting components and you have to go larger injectors than you would expect for Gasoline builds.
The rats nest is whats holding you back from doing a proper fueling upgrade. In your case, just get the injectors serviced, delete the fpd and press on. The stock injectors will take you to ~330 yes but only after having them serviced would it be recommended doing that.
Being a mostly stock set up you absolutely will benefit from a top feed modern injector but getting it all to fit with the rats nest is just nonsense. If you went simplified sequential or non sequential then you can upgrade everything easily without a real estate concern.
Id1050 primary and id1750 secondaries with whatever rails will last you into infinity and IMPROVE dramatically idle, cruise, start up, mpg, everything. The car will just be better overall period. Injector tech has come a long way where a top feed 1050 will perform better in all respects than a side feed 550. For the fpr, radium or aeromotive are your options. Other brands I've noticed serious reliability issues.

Great stuff! Was just watching your exact video earlier on. Thanks for the gouge.
