OEM air filter hose question

Does anybody knows what this hose is for? It's the opening on the right hand side of the OEM air box. The hose bends down and goes under the air box.

I pulled my OEM intercooler out this weekend and found out that it's not connected to anything under the air box. I can't find anything around that area that this hose should go to.

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance
Aaron

It goes no where. It just vents the air pump to the atmosphere, Mazda did it that way to muffle the noise it makes.

The opening is actually coming out from the filtered side of the air box. Is there a valve or something in between? or is it a open hose?

I believe it's there to relieve positive pressure in the airbox. The blow off valves vent to the airbox...
