Exclamation Odometer problem

My numbers are not appearing on the odometer but it still lights up orange. I tried adjusting the brightness but nothing changes to the numbers, they just dont show up. What could be the cause to this and how may I go about fixing it.

Another problem I am having is the car will "dump" and stop me from going over 5,000 rpms in 3rd gear and 4th gear. If I down shift to 3rd however from a fast speed, it will rev way past 5,000 rpms like it should. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

The problem with the odometer is common. Search and you will find all the info you need. You basically have to do some soldering on a panel on the tach.
