Odd headlight problem

Ok, woke up this morning and when I went outside my headlights were opening and closing on their own. I had left them locked up overnight and my car was under the cover. I never heard a horn honk, and both doors and windows were fine. They were just raising and lowering , one up one down; like a see-saw. Ideas?
When I hit the button to lower the lights it stopped. I think it's possesed. The lights were not on, just moving.

Well thats what the lights do when the stock alarm system goes off. Maybe your horn interface isnt working with the alarm?? No idea. That would be my only idea. I would delieberately set off the stock alarm to see if the alarm goes off, if it doesnt then thats what was happening. Or maybe its the DEVIL!!! lol

so they weren't going up and down at the same time? it was more like one would be up while the other woudl be down, and then they would switch?

93 R1.

I'm trying to remember what time of the day it was...It was really weird. The car was locked and I opened up the pass door first, then it went off. Only time it did that and hasn't done it since. Made me want to put a beefier horn in there.

I only have the stock alarm system.
Forgot about problem, didn't test it. But, I will tomorrow. One went up while the other was down, then they'd switch, like a see-saw. But, no aftermarket alarm and no horn honking. I've stopped leaving them "locked" up, but I had been leaving them up overnight for a few years and no problem. I'll re-post tomorrow after testing, almost midnight here.

Just to save wear and tear on the motors. If I come home at night and know I'm not driving it again until another night, I'lll lock them up. I keep the carunder a cover, so it doesn't look too bad........ unless the covers is earily raising and lowering near the nose.

Actually it happened again today. I came home and only the drivers side was doing it. Just up and down over and over..... convinced it's the "lock-up" switch. As soon as I hit the button to lower them, it stopped. Not going to worry about it.

Dug this up from a search.
My car is getting the finishing touches at the body shop this week and the mechanic said the headlights started popping up and down. I immediately remembered someone posting a thread about this with a video attached. Anyway - from reading a few threads I determined that its probably the relay that has gone bad. Can anyone else offer any other ideas on what to look for? He said that if he just turned the lights on- they would stay on and up, but with the lights off they had a mind of their own.

Thanks for any help.

Dave
