To the observant members..
Just got a 94' rx-7 with 19k miles and so far so good. But I have a few questions which I am hoping those who have been around these cars longer could address. Seeing how I am the 3rd owner, it is difficult to know but the obvious mods and the ones the 2nd owner knows about (which are not many as he is a bit older and just liked to drive it occassionally)
1) Many of the maintenance items have been performed on my car nice blue hoses everywhere in bay, timer, gauge, and dp. However, how do I know if the radiator has been upgraded. I looked at it and it well - looks like a radiator.
2) The car has the PEG, however, it also has a Cusco strut tower bar and a factory rear bar. With that said, it drives like a go cart with cement wheels. - a bit harsh - but I like it. How would I be able to determine if I have a r2 option (didn't see 2nd oil cooler) or if the 1st owner added different shocks - do the r1 components "look" different?
3)Like I said, it has the PEG, but it doesn't have the Blose stereo - fortunately - it has a basic tape deck job. I thought this was standard, likewise it doesn't have a rear windshield wiper. So, my question is -- did Mazda offer this much flexibility in creating different cars?
p.s. All in all I am very happy with the car, the biggest negative is the 1st owner added the efini logos and replaced the mazda's and the seats are tan.
Oddly I just realized I have owned all of the Japaneese muscle cars in the past 8 years. Hmm - maybe I have a problem.
93 - MR2 NA - heavily modded
91 - 300z w/ Dinan & HKS intake
91 - 300z TT JWT BPU
94 - MR2 - TT
94 - Supra TT dp, boost controller, intake, blitz type 03's
94 - RX7 (various mods)
So far the RX7 is giving me what I always wanted the MR2 to give me, but didn't. The Supra was a highway thug that was fun - when I got up to speed. The 300 NA was better than the TT as the TT was not really agile with the JWT and the non-seq turbos.
Enough rambling - thanks for the help and insight.

1) Is there anything noticeable written on the radiator? Is there plastic ends or aluminun ends on the raditator?
2) Check the top of the struts, do they look like they are adjustable? Do you have a sunroof, 2nd oil cooler or an automatic?
3) I believe all the options were mainly dependant upon the model of car you god, Base, Touring or R1/R2 type...

You probably have the base, with seats upgraded to leather (I think this could be done - no doubt I'll be corrected if not). R2s only came in red, black and silver. What color is yours?
I hear that all models ride firm, but I've only ever driven an R.

the popular equipment group was/were the following
leather
steel sunroof
cruise control
foglights in 95
the tourings are the only ones with the bose, and rear wiper

Mine is black w/ tan leather interior. So it seems that mine is a base with the PEP. Seems like the better choice to me if you like a few amenities but think Bose is the worst POS ever created and don't want/need the hassel of a rear wiper. I've even thought of removing my front ones as I don't plan on ever driving it in the rain.... Would have thought they could have recessed them a bit more - reminds me of a Ford Mustang in that regard.
