O2 sensor replacement - need info QUICK!

anyone have experience changing theirs out?
i plan on doing so on tuesday and im just wondering how straight forward the removal/install is. i cant find anything in the FSM about removal and install and torque numbers and such so any info would be helpful.
btw, i have an O2 sensor from an 86 escort as well as the universal one for the FD.....which would be better to use?

the universal one is a 1 wire deal while the escort one has 3 wires (2 white, 1 black) im guessing its a heated sensor where the 2 white wires are to be used for 12V power and ground. anyone have more info on this??

my newly installed PFC is telling me im getting 0.00V from the O2 sensor so obviously something is awry.....replacing the sensor is my first step to solving the problem.

thanks

just make it tight...nothin crazy... just 1/4 turn past snug..its 7/8...the real easy was is to by the o2 sensor socket but they run $20 for the socket..a 8/9 box end will work fine...personally i say stay with the 1 wire...youll only use the 3 if u run leaded race fuel...
