O2 Sensor Missing/1st Gear STALLING - HELP!

Hi,
I recently bought a single turbo 93 R1, but unfortunately, the previous owner forgot to swap the stock O2 sensor back in...annd so for the time being, I have no O2 sensor. My question is, what effects does not having the o2 sensor have on the motor?

Another problem my FD is having is that occassionally when I am in 1st gear and depress the clutch, the RPMs do not catch the 1100 RPM idle and the car stalls out. Why does it do this? Is this because I am missing the stock o2 sensor? Thanks everyone for their help.

Nate

P.S. - the previous owner is sending me the stock o2 sensor so I will be plugging that in sometime here soon.

BUMP. I need some expert opinions here. Is an O2 sensor necessary for the long term health of the motor?

Do like Paps said and turn it off with the commander. It will then read off the PFC fuel map and won't be or shouldn't be stalling out. It's necessary for the lean run at idle and steady state cruising so with it turned off, you'll run a bit richer at idle.
