O2 sensor

Hi,
can we use the car with the O2 sensor disconnect?

some people of a team say me that this O2 sensor is not useful because there is only one wire...

what do you think about?

You will get a code and go into "limp mode" The car does use it for closed loop mode.

Wouldn't your car run like crap with it disconnected? I know your car's gas mileage will suck if you have a bad o2 sensor. Having no sensor is like (if not worse) than having a bad one. Don't take my word for it though. I' not 100% sure.

yes, you can run with it unhooked. I, unfortunately, have been for 1.5 years. I have EXTREMELY bad hesitation when it is connected, therefore I leave it off. I added grounds and all that stuff, but it doesn't help. It runs a little rich, which can have negative effects, but so far i haven't had any problems with it. and I still get 25+ MPG on the highway.

If you are talking about on the ecu then it is the black wire on the plug that has 16 pins. It is on the second row down on that set of wires.

Hi all,
I'm also wondering along the same lines.
Is it possible to:
1) unplug the O2 sensor
2) replace the sensor with an appropriate resistor equal to the O2 sensor resistance
3) use the Apexi S-AFC to adjust the fueling for closed loop operation

If the car should run rich in closed loop operation, will that affect the spark plugs, etc etc?

Regarding the "one wire" O2 sensor ... it should still work fine considering the exhaust temps which the rotaries churn out, and hence the unnecessary need for heated sensors.
