I don't think that the large NPR will fit on an FD. I have the medium one and you can't go much bigger.

I finally found an underhood shot.

I've also made better piping since these pics were taken.

I believe the 2.5 is better.Isnt that the medium NPR intercooler? That would work fine im sure.Anything bigger in my opinion would have more pressure loss.I think thats what im gonna end up getting instead of spending 900 dollars on a greddy. I'll spend 150 on the intercooler and a couple more hundred on the custom piping.I would surely save a lot of money.

How did you mount it?

did you do lots of cutting? how about bumper reinforcement? where did piping go through?

I'm really interested in this intercooler!!

more detail please.

Starion IC : (the bigger one) at 324cfm and 292°F on the inlet side of
the
IC, the pressure drop is 0.29psi. The outlet temp is 139°F, heat

52287 BTU/hr, and the calculated heat exchange area is 1217 square

Saab 9000 IC: at 332cfm and 295°F on the inlet side of the IC, the

Volvo IC: at 331cfm and 293°F on the inlet side of the IC, the pressure
drop
is 0.55psi. The outlet temp is 126°F, heat rejected is 58809 BTU/hr,
and the
calculated heat exchange area is 1539 square inches

for those of you who dot believe that this IC is good enough, check out some cars from Puerto Rico that run 7's 8's and 9's with this IC.

I think this is from the same program that I have reviewed, from don hausler. lots of assumptions, but heat exchange comparo is good, based on constant cooling air flow, and some cfm output was funky, but pressure drop was way off ... by a factor of 10x on one calibration point I measured with a differential gauge on a saab 900 IC.

If those guys in PR are on the bottle, then most of the O2 ain't goin thru the IC.

Nope. I give credit where credit is due. I modified it a little though before I installed it.

I also left you good feedback in the buyers section

Very happy with it

Like I said: The large one probably won't fit. At least not in a true front mount application, in front of the radiator.

I'm pretty sure mine is the medium one. I believe the overall dimensions were like 9x28 or something?

HMMM... i beg to differ...i just went and measured mine. i know it was much bigger than 40oz's old one and fits in front of the rad. fine.
the core alone is 15 tall X 23in wide.
the radiator must be stood up to fit it, but even with rad standing straight up, it clears the hood with NO problem. so YES the large WILL fit.
i actualy had on that was 19.25in tall X 19.25in wide i was going to use that DID fit. i opted to sell that one to someone else though. but not because it did not fit.
the one on the right is from an NRR.

sorry about the newb question, but: what is npr, and why are the ic's so cheap?

How hard is it to get custom endtanks created? The ones in the pic posted by rxrotary looked very restrictive IMO

How do they compare to the m2/asp intercoolers or some of the better front mounts (apexi)?

If you read the original post you would see that the NPR is a Isuzu utility truck. The intercoolers are so cheap mainly because there is not a huge demand for them.
