I recently lost all 3 of my front ceramic apex seals. I'm still not sure if I'm going to keep it once it runs again or not. Probably not since I've realized how bad things can get with just one stupid event!

And for any who are considering installing an Aeromotive fuel pump spend the extra time & money to sump the tank. After cranking it up for the first time it was running great so I decided to see how the new 1680cc secondaries came on line. it was at this time that the fuel pickup started sucking a little air & the aeromotive sent foamed fuel into the rails! I wasn't even into boost at all!

I love my rx-7. But like everyone else, have put alot of money into it. On top of it all I'm a woman with a 7 and i addmit i'm completely addicted to my car. It's sick i tell you. I just bought a rebuilt motor and i'm sure i got a bad one. So this is my last project is to get my warranty motor replaced. I run 0 boost in my car. I don't race but i totaly love this exotic car.

Trust me being a student with a 7 is the hardest thing in the world, its like someone said the 7 is a disease...
I have no (0$) spending money, i spend more on gas in a week then i do on food sometimes, i work 3 jobs to pay tuition and payments and save for mods. but i dont sell it cause i love it drop the hammer and she just goes its a feeling that no 5.slow or camaro can mimic. sometimes i think about selling her but then i go for a drive and dont wanna get out all night.

Yea being a poor kid in college is terrible with an FD. Sometimes I think it would just be best if I sold it, bought a older civic, saved up and when I graduate pay cash for one if I still have the intrest that I have know.

well alot of people are complaining that its a money pit. I must say every dime i put into my car has been voluntary. i have put literally 0 money into fixing broken stuff. My car has been extremely reliable and has been tracked and put on the strip several times. I have had my car since its had 15k miles and have changd the oil religously. It is still perfectly mint. Perhaps some of you are buying beat up cars? i dont know how else to explain it?

but my experiences show that the fd can be a reliable high performance car.

Most of the money people spend is to make it faster and faster and faster not so much fixing things (unless they broke them by making them faster).

The hard part is to set a performance goal, achieve the goal, THEN STAY THERE. I'm having a hard time not playing with mine right now. I havent bought anything but tires in the past 6 months or so and its been great but I find myself not happy with 125mph traps lol......but I'm trying hard to hold back

The only prob is I finally killed the stock bov and need to get me a good Tial. Anyone want to sell one for cheap???

Barry, glad to see your doing good. If your ever going to be around B'ham, Al pm me

Quote found on an old fourm... " Driving an RX7 is like dating a supermodel, everyone looks at her, all your friends want her, she will treat you badly for no reason, and she is most definatly fun to drive!!"
my drem car was always a corvette, (yea nothin special, but i love em), ive drove a vette and own a FD, and imo the FD is way more fun to drive. + i have never seen another FD in my area, so every where i go people give me complmets or want to buy it. yea its expensive to drive, but well worth it!
just my 2 pennies

lol, Rich you have a 108 hp CRX in your sig - atleast mine has the 115 hp engine Let me fix that:

2000 VW Jetta Twin-Turbo......

1993 RX7 (sold)

Stephen, getting bored of 125 mph traps is scary - but I know what you mean - you get the need to go a little faster - not sure if you can go any faster with those BNRs - maybe 126-127...if you actually shift harder next time

Sad thing is I think I enjoyed the attention I got more than driving it. I don't get any attention now...sucks...

Damm kwik, another one bites the dust....as I just did also....

I sold my FD last week to save up money to buy a house. Man, talk about withdrawal....went and bought FD models, put a picture of me and my car on top of the TV. I actually put it up for sale once over a year ago and couldn't part with it. Now getting a little older, working all those years and having not much to show for it, finding out I couldn't qualify for a loan, parents nagging that keeping it is a big waste of money (insurance is expensive too), it was my 3rd car (only had 62k on it) etc etc....

I LOVED my RX7....always TLC, but.... now that I sold her : I only feel i have more money b/c of what I sold her for. My RX7 was reliable, only usually problems due to age. Yes...I am saving up and feel I will be purchasing another 7 once I get my life set again...

Bro.. I hear ya.. I saved up for a decent size house deposit in less than a year ! and in the last 3 months, I've saved 30% of that EXTRA !! All because I decided to put a hold on work on my car to buy a house and I've managed to stick to that plan .. except for the WBo2 I'm presently buying.. and that's only 'cause I cracked a seal and am doing a re-build now.. which is coming out of the 30% extra I saved.

... it really does freak you out when you add it up. I have an XL spreadsheet with every cent i spent.. last update was 7 months ago.. and I'm running 53,000 spent.. now add body kit, single turbo, FMIC.. sheesh.. I hardly ever scroll to the bottom... Hardest part is .. I'll never get it back..especially the Audio Set up.. $11,000 ! .. at least I can sell off parts here if I need to.. oh well.. too late now.. guess I'll just have to get that R34 GTR i always wanted for a daily driver

Hmmm.. I'm in the same boat as you bro.. folks always bitching, GF wants to leave cause she just cannot see the white pickette fence.. but , if I sold her.. I'd be throwing away wayyy too much money.. and ..I won't be happy.. so screw everyone.. the folks can bitch.. it's my life.. as for the GF.. she met me with it and she could leave me with it just as easy.. I'm not selling.
