thanks for sharing your project.

my apologies in advance foe not looking at the rules for your class but i am very curious on one point. does your class stipulate you have to retain the unibody chassis? it is such a compromise to work around a unibody V just starting w a clean shhet of paper and doing a tube frame chassis.

thanks and good luck.

The org plan was just to tune the car little bit, and just drive..
But it just got more and more done with the car..

No spesial rules at all in the class I`m going to race in, just that u have to have a extreme car to get in to the class..

I have a plan about building a Tubeframe for the rx7 or the rx8, but I`m looking for some blueprints..
I really don`t want to start with nothing..

Looks like I`m going to get a 4 rotor buildt for the tubeframe car if I can get the plans for the tubeframe.

check out the guy that built the tube frame for the speedsource rx-8, its set up for a 3 rotor but quick fix to throw a 4 rotor in there, and mazda motorsports offers the carbon shell to make it all pretty lookin as well. im sure a quick search in speedsource's site or mazdasports site should get you the guys name, and i just google searched his name to find his site. hope that was at least a little helpfull

Could you use measurements from your unibody RX-7 as a starting point? I mean, you know the length, width, suspension mounting points, etc...

WA Drawing Program...

If what you need is to use a drawing program and you dont have it or dont know how to, I work with 3D programs so I can try to help. Let me know.

Well like Timemachine was saying, you could start by taking measurements of all the parts that you know are going to stay the same like engine, suspension, tranny, wheels, etc.
Are you planning on doing a special body for it or just something you can buy in fiberglass or carbon fiber?
If it is something you can buy, then they will have the measurements for that. If not, then it can be worked out after the frame is done. And you can design anything you want.
You must have the suspension geometry you are thinking about using if other than the modified stock, etc.
It is a time consuming process but it can be done.
As soon as you can give some measurements of the main components, plus a simple hand drawing of the way you want to do the tubeframe, I can do it in 3D and take as many pictures as you want. Actually I can do a simple animation walkthrough around it so you can start looking at everything and adding or correcting anything you want.
Well, let me know ok?
Take care...

Great build. She is looking great so far.

You should fortify the front suspension pick up points (upper control arm pick up points) while you are at it. We use to race these 7s in the world challenge series and if we ever got into a fender bender these points would "bend".

Also on the front tube to support the front nose, I recommend to complete the hoop. It makes for a strong "horn" in racing situations.

Hehe, iv'e been thinking about a tube frame for a while my self. Hopefully if everything goes after plan i might start in a year or two

Maybe even the new 7 is out then, and i can base the chassi and the body on that

I could do the Rx8 no problem, but then I need somebody to make an extreme body kit for it..
Because I`ve still not seen any yet..

Well Tial, but is the Tail of the turbo is for what you need it right ?
As for the extreme body kit, I could do the design when you are ready
My Avatar is one of the designs I have made.
Take care...
