no tension in hot/cold ****

having an issue with the heater control ****. i noticed that when i tried to warm up the air in the car last night, it did not warm at all. not even the slightest bit. i also noticed that there was no tension in the dial for the hot-cold adjustment. now, i just had a new motor installed, and am thinking that the cord might have been left 'uninstalled?'

ant helo here would be appreciated. i real do not need the heat, as it only cooled off for a night, i just would like my car to be in the best working order....

First thing to do is take off the **** and make sure the nut didn't loosen itself. I had that happen on the vent selector ****.

I bet it is just the nut got loose enough for the positioning tab to fall out of the hole. Pull the **** off; no trick here, just pull. Line the tab back up (twist the shaft and you'll see it) and use a tiny drop of thread lock compound on the nut before tightening to keep it in place for good. Do the other ****, too. Mine were both loose when I got the car four years ago and they haven't loosened at all since I thread-locked them. It only takes a tiny drop, and you don't want to get it on the shaft, so use the thread lock sparingly. If you want to be extra careful, put a drop on a piece of paper and use a tooth pick to transfer a little bit to the threads.
