No side effects?
From removing the EGR. I have a 93 FD and I just got a CEL, it turned out to be the EGR. The car runs good and all, although the idle is a but erratic when I am at a stop light, the car never stalls. I was told by my local rotary shop that I could buy a set of Greddy pullies to eliminate the EGR, I am in TX, and that no harm will come to my engine if I remove it.
Is this true or does he want me to buy and install pullies just for the sake of selling. I am mostly stock, DP, 3' exhaust, Al. radiator, metal AST, simple stuff as you can see. Thanks and I did search but no answer as to if it can har the engine or if it need tunning afterwards.

Egr
Being that he has a 93 there is no electrical connection to put a resistor in. I have disconnected the vaccum line running to the EGR, also removed the ACV, ACV tubes, AWS, AWS pipes, double throttle, and airpump. My idle is stable and I have oddly enough not thrown any CEL's. For reference I have a 93 R1 with stock ECU. As Marshall said, never go back to that shop again. Any shop that thinks putting a pulley set on will remove the EGR is no shop I would deal with!
