Newly Rifitted engine - backfireing

I have just had my engine totally refitted after a detonation caused by a dammed broken knock out sensor plug which came off and prevented it from working.

So go now and check the condition of that plug.

At the moment the engine is closing in to finish it 1000km running in. It is fitted with everything stock parts except for the Apex seals which a 3mm super seals. All seems to be well I have good boost and in general good response from every part of the engine. The engine is set to idel at 800rpm at the moment.

Except one thing that is bothering me. As soon as the engine warms up and I shift while in crusing speed the engine back fires. This does not happen when I am driving in high speeds.

At the moment I have no idea why this is happening. My only thought is that maybe the super seals have not yet totally settled since these take quite a lot more to settle than the normal seal. The rest I have no clue.

Any suggestion?

Have you gotten your car tuned? Have you done break-in procedures?

My exhaust system was not changed. However it was modified before the detonation. It used to back fire once in a while but not at every single shift in crusing speed, especially 1st 2nd and 3rd gear change.

My exhaust system consist of an HP racing exhaust, HKS Intake system and HKS Downpipe.

My car was tuned down especially in rmp (it idles at around 800 759rpm) just not to abuse her which in running in. I noted that when it was kept tuned as it was before detonation it used to back fire a bit less but usuall produced a bid detonation when hard pressed in 1st and 2nd gear. The sound of the detonation was quite loud (similar to a gun shot). That is why my car was tuned down for now. The gunshot disappeared but the small continious back firing increased.

Have you done break-in procedures?
Never heard could you explain further pls.

Thanks for the help so far.

Make sure you don't have any exhaust leaks and that you have a good O2 sensor
