Newbie Seeking '92 \ '93 RX7 Advice

Having driven my trusty '84 RX7 for over a decade, I finally decided to go for a newer set of wheels and naturally a '92 or '93 RX7 is at the top of my list of probables. In my opinion there is nothing this side of the Ferrari stable that matches the 93 RX7 for breath-taking, drop-dead curvaceous beauty, so I want to be careful not to let emotion cloud my judgement as I make up my mind whether to go for a 92 or a 93 RX7.

To my untrained eye, the body styles of the 92 and 93 RX7s are very similar despite the 92 being gouped with the 2nd generation RX7, and the 93 falling into the 3rd generation category. I'd really like to know if there are any significant mechanical upgrades in the 93 RX7 that would make it worthwhile paying a little extra to purchase, as compared with a 1992 model.

Also I'd be grateful if anyone can offer pointers as to factory defects or parts prone to premature wear that I'd need to watch out for in buying either a 92 or 93 RX7.

There was NO 92 model year, so I'm not sure what you are talking about. The 93-95s (3rd gen) are all essentially the same. Read the newbie FAQ please.
