Newbie Question!!

Hi I'm new in here and I just bought a 1993 FD.(RX7)

I don't know much about RX7 rotary, but have a couple of question though.

I heard from people that You are suppose to REDLINE your car everytime you drive it..?? But isn't that just going to kill the engine way quicker then it is already. Because can't I just drive regular and shift at every 2 and a half or 3 thousand RPM. ????

The other thing I've notice about the car is the antifreeze starts leaking like on the driverside of the engine. It's not from a hose or the radiator. It's from the engine. Still I don't know where exactly the leak is coming from...

Well thanks for looking at my question anyway!!!

Welcome. Good luck with the car.

You can drive regularly as much as you like but it's good for the car to reline every once in a while to burn up some of the carbon deposits. Rotaries love to rev!

The antifreeze leaking from the passenger side is probably either the heater hoses (going into the firewall) or from the turbo coolant hoses which you can't see too well. Take off the undertray and look for thick green goop in that area.

If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask, but please check this post https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=68640
