You've got it backwards my friend. 
ITR for daily,
FD for track.
Same thing I do,
B18C Civic (being rebuilt now) for daily, FD for track and/or whenever else I want to drive it.

Use the ITR for DD. Lower level of performance, but higher level of reliability - PLUS you will be screwed come heavy rain and/or severe cold/hail/etc weather conditions and you're in the FD.
The oil might have been overfilled for a reason. To keep as much as possible, internally, from drying out.

I'm no professional, but I do know my way around an FD. If you want me to go with you to look at it, that wouldn't be a problem.

What in the world was the original owner thinking?
6k miles sounds great, but how does it have door dings?
I would be concerned as to whether or not the car was in a serious accident; or anything else someone might try to hide. It was obviously not taken car of, who knows what happened to it?
And ditto on everything else said about it.
