A newbie with a couple questions
Hello,
I just joined up as I might purchase a 93 RX-7 to go along with my Honda S2000. I had just a few questions that I couldnt find in the search.
Is the differential on the RX-7 pretty strong?
What is stock boost set at and how much boost can the stock internals handle on pump gas?
I havent owned a Mazda before and didnt know how reliable the cars are. Is the RX-7 a pretty reliable car? Any major problems?
Thanks in advance
Matt

Heres good info to get you started on reading. https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=68640
But to answer your questions,
The differential is decent, up until about 350 (?) rwhp. PM Vosko, he's broken so many he knows.
Stock boost is 10 psi. But due to sequential turbos, it has a pattern of 10-8-10. The dip is due to the pre-spool of the second turbo stealing exhaust gas from the primary. The stock engine can handle 15+ psi, but the fuel system and intercooler can't. Nor can the stock twins very reliably.
The cars can become reliable, with a few aptly named "reliablity mods" such as, downpipe, AST deletion or replacement, new radiator, IC, creating a switch for rad. fans to turn them on at will.
