New Uego gauge from Innovative
New Uego gauge from Innovative
""The Innovate XD-1 dash-mountable Digital Gauge features programmable LED colors and remote control button to start and stop LM-1 log sessions or initiate calibration. The entire gauge is a mere .750" thick, so it's possible to mount even in surface mount configurations. The display features a 3 character central LED display, remote control button, and a programmable digital needle. The body is a billet aluminum bezel.
The XD-1 Gauge connects to a LM-1 or available as a Standalone Gauge kit with a LC-1 & Sensor included.""
This is a good alternative over the AEM since it reads as low as a 9 to 1 Air/fuel.

I met the Innovate guys at SEMA Vegas, their booth was right near ours. I went up and was like, "I've been watching your website constantly waiting for the new AFR gauge to come out in 'the following quarter'- that was two quarters ago..." I met a guy named Cort, and Klaus, the designer and engineer, and they really are great guys. The gauge is truly over-engineered- they've thought of everything. All the face color and bezel combinations are gorgeous, and the gauge is so shallow you can mount it anywhere. Apparently you also get this software that enables you to customize your gauge, such as a myriad of LED colors and even the design of the face...AMAZING product!!! Highly recommended!
Man thats awsome. 389.00 and it is the complete unit. I too have been waiting for this thing to come out. I wonder if the 4 color options on rx7store are the only options. I'd like to see different LED colors.
You can check the Innovate! forums for the answer to this and many other questions.
Yes, you can get just the gauge to use with the LM-1 and just plug it in. I'm not sure if Jason has it (he probably does or can get it), but if not you can get it directly from Innovate! for $229. If you read the posts on the Innovate! forums, it's compatible with the LM-1 OR the LC-1. It just uses a serial cable (included). They currently estimating that they'll ship around the 15th of this month (March).
I know you can change at least some of them. I'm not sure about the numbers in the center. Programming software (to change the display) is included.

I have my LM-1 wired up into my datalogit. I haven't used the LC-1 (what Jason lists as the Innovative Uego Gauge), but if it's anything like the LM-1 (and it is supposed to be verysimilar) it should be easy. My only advice: use the diff. inputs on the datalogit to prevent extra noise in your logs.

You can adjust how the peak is calculated (including requiring a minimum time or having a trigger, so you don't peak-hold a crazy-high AFR when you're off the gas, for example), and if you're using the other logging capabilities of the LM-1 you can display anything you log on the display (like AFR in the cetner and RPMs aorund the outside, or whatever else you like). There's probably more too. It sounds very, very cool. I don't use any of the other logging features on mine, but I admire his engineering. Way over engineered -- just the way I like it!

Really, check out the Innovate forums for more info. There's lots of juicy details there. It's best to get the info from Klaus himself.

If the gauge display were LCD-based, then sure. However, the only way to change the color of an LED is to replace it or put a colored sleeve over it.

Alright this thing looks like the ticket. Just so I am on the right page, this will not log (without the LM-1) right? How about hooking it into the data-logit? Then you wouldn't need the LM-1 as long as you didn't mind having a laptop with you right?
It looks like a nice piece of gear!

Code:
LM-1 LC-1 XD-1
Price (approx)? 349 389 229
Logging? yes no no
Analog Outputs? 2 2 no
Includes XD-1? no yes --
Display?(1) yes no --
Mutiple grounds?(2) no yes(3) --
Requires LM-1/LC-1 -- -- yes
1 - Built in digital display. NOT the same as the XD-1.
2 - Multiple grounds (1 each for heater, system and analog out) can improve analog output accuracy by eliminating grounding offsets between the 3 subsystems.
The LM-1 is the product they've had out for a while now. It's a handheld unit with a built-in display, 2 analog outputs (1 to say, a datalogit) and internal logging capabilites. It does not include an XD-1 display and costs around $350 at the time of this writing.
The LC-1 is meant for hardwired realtime monitoring of AFR. It includes the measuring capabilities of the LM-1 in a small, waterproof case. It does have 2 analog outputs (for a datalogit, for example), but does NOT have any logging capabilities. Hence, you'll need a datalogit connected via the analog output (or something similar) to do that. It includes an XD-1 display and costs about $390 at the time of this writing.
The XD-1 is a remote display for the LC-1 or LM-1. It is a display ONLY. It requires you use either an LM-1 or an LC-1 to work. It does have a serial passthrough for daisy chaining of devices. Mutliple XD-1s can work together in one system.
For reference, I have an LM-1 hardwired to my datalogit using the differential inputs on that datalogit and it works great. My XD-1 is on order.
I hope this helps.
