if you have a prob downloading the entire thing, clear the cache on your browser first then retry downloading it...

if you dont clear your cache it thinks it has it still and wont try to re-download it.

i have a question

whenever you approach another car, they give you the wave to pass, ok now, did they do that because...

they knew you were filming?
those other cars were slow?
just being curteous (sp?)

or is your car tooooo damn fast?

cause it seemed like you can overlap alot of those cars there..and i laugh everytime you give the wave back cause it looks like you're saying, "seeeeee yaaa!!" LOL

hehehe, well, first of all let me answer your question:

1) on most the open track events they have whats called 'contract passing', that means i cant pass them till they wave me by...its safer since both drivers know whats going on.

2) putting all drivers skill aside, the yellow track car is faster than most the cars on the track, with the excaption of some of the higher end cars.

3) I am not a super driver, but i am relativly good, so I can make a decent car go realtivly fast around a track that I am familiar with

BELIEVE me I have done my fair share of waive bys, and have been passed by faster people many times....

 

i basically triangulate it with sucution cups and pole mounts, ill try to get a pic for you...

 

wow, i never knew that, i guess you learn something everyday, i always wanted to drive onto a track..hopefully someday i will..

so let me get this straight, pretty much you run the track to get the best times right? its not an actual race between you and the rest of the cars right? otherwise they wont have that contract passing..it would be a real (not that the race you did wasnt) vs race?

 

you basically got it right, its called 'open track days' or 'open lapping'... it means that you are not wheel to wheel racing, you are just going to improve your driving, and the rules are ment to keep it very safe, like no passing in the turns, contract passing only, et. this kind of track lapping is usually to try to get a better personal time (or try to beat a friends time...heheheh)

HOWEVER, some events have open passing for teh top rated group, for example, some clubs let the A group drivers pass in the turns, they are good enough to do this safely and both drivers have an awarness of the other, respecting there position on the track.

...and some clubs run an 'exhibition race', that is wht you see in the middle of my MAM video, its not for any prise, its just for 'fun', and only the a group drivers are usually invited, so they all know how to pass safely and usually know the other drivers running in the race.

dont u need to join a club to get on a track? i ride a bike and i know you can just show up on track day and expect to get on. you have to be affiliated somehow with a club...

how much does it cost each time you get on the track?

 

Great vid Damian...editing is awesome as usual. But I prefer to hear the engine over the music and not the music over the engin.
