I agree, I prefer the '99 spec wing but if you still want an R1 wing you should look at the Buy/Sell forum, there are normally a couple floating around.

on a stock car it would look goofy

im not tryin to buy a body kit id rather get the stock spoiler and work on reliabitliy mods first .. cosmetics c0me once i have 300hp - except for the stock spoiler and tints

Good luck with the car. It sounds like you are taking the smart approach. I would highly recommend that come spring you hook up with NASA or Car Guys or whatever club is local to you and sign up for a high performance driver's ed session at your local track (like VIR).

If you think you learned a lot ******* around in a parking lot, wait till you get it on the track!

A few things that NEED to be looked and paid attention to before you push it.

1. Make sure your air separation tank is either eliminated or you have an aluminum one. This slowly forms leaks over time and eventually pours coolant hot and bye-bye engine.
2. Make sure both of your radiator fans are coming on. Do this by turning your engine off and turning back on without starting the engine. Then activate the A/C. Pop the hood and feel to see if both fans are working. One of my fans went down and I am paying with coolant seal failure at the moment because my temps were consistently high.
3. Get a water temp gauge. The stock one is a piece and non-linear. The stock gauge will not enable you to track subtle changes in engine temperature. You will not see impending disaster.
4. Your intercooler sucks. So let it cool down for a bit if you go grab something to eat then get back in. Driving it will ram air into the duct for it thereby cooling it down. These I/Cs heat soak because it is so close to the engine. Your intake temps are crucial so your engine doesn't knock/detonate/pre-ignite on your apex seals. Just be careful on hot days.
5. Get a down pipe. These things are relatively cheap, 200-300 dollars, and replace the stock pre-cat. This thing generates heat because it was designed to do so. Mazda used it to comply with emission standards. It is unnecessary and aids in engine damage due to heat.
