New to Rotary
Hi my name is Chris and I'm planning to buy a Rx7 within the next few weeks. I'm trying to get as documented as I can in how to take care of these beautiful machines because honestly I have no clue on what can be done to them. For what I have read here I know that the engines are not very reliable when highly tunned but then again I don't really want to get a 400+ hp beast, all I want is a nice weekend car that can kick some honda butt (here on Orlando is very hard to find turbo cars so even a stock setup will do ). I might be wrong about how reliable these engines are but If so I hope I don't get bashed the living *@#%# out me . I look forward to own one of these cars and be part of the club. Thanks in advance for any reply I get.

Rotary for life!
Welcome. I myself don't know much about rotary's but am certainly learning from this website! Hope you enjoy your FD! You will!
Before doing any of the performance mods, make sure you do the reliability mods.
Replace vacuum hoses with good silicone hoses
- Immediately change all filters the most important being the fuel filter
Change all fluids.
- Replace plastic AST with either a metal one or eliminate completly (Stock ones are prone to crack. Mine did)
- Inspect all radiator hoses, including the ones to the upper intake manifold.
Inspect belts.
Have fun and take care of her!
