Lightbulb New Ride, need help!

I loved the 93-x7 ever since it came out. I never had the money for it, I was still in middle school, and now that I've got a job to pay for a used one I want to make sure that I'm not getting a lemon.

I've been doing a lot of catching up on my 7 and I need some help.

What questions do I ask the seller?
How do I test to see if it's legit?
What do I look for?

It's already been 9 years since it's release, how do I check for the defects, the recalls, the oil meter gauge?
Do you think the previous owners already got to them?

Are there any new problems that I haven't read about or haven't been published?

How much would a rebuild be?

Somebody please help me with this. I'm a bum wanting to live a dream I've had since grade school. I just want to have some insight from you guys who already own the girl.

Please respond!

These are really good sites for finding important info on these cars. The search function on this forum is very helpful too. Good luck!
