new rebuild,weak power(newbie)

I just had my motor rebuilt by pettit racing. It is a street port with 3mm seals. I have a downpipe, catback, intake, fluidyne radiator, aluminum ast, boost gauge,a/f ratio gauge. I installed the motor myself and as far as i know everything was put back together just the way it came off. I broke in the engine and tried to let her rip but it feels weaker than stock. The car starts and runs great but it feels like it doesnt have much power. Im getting 10 lbs boost but it feels like the rpms dont go up fast enough in the upper rpm range and it feels like its holding back. Im not sure if its the injectors or the fuel filter or what but any advice would help, thanks.

If you have a pfc and dataloggit run a log session. If you want to save time just bring it to a reputable shop and have them check it out.

Fuel filter? doubt it. Injectors, also doubt it - unless you significantly toyed with them while they were possibly off the engine. This type of thing sounds more like a timing issue than anything else - and while it isn't manually adjustable like a distributor based setup, you can screw up the following (all easily done during a reinstall):

1. CAS sensors have the plugs swapped.
2. Coil pack harness flipped.
3. Plug wires just wrong.

Go back and verify all three of those and let us know the results.

no i dont have a power fc. i took it to ricks rotary performance and he told me that i needed one and that everything else looked good. i was getting a lot of detonation in the upper rpm range thats why it felt like i wasnt having a lot of power. he said i needed a power fc and then from there i should upgrade my fuel system and intercooler. the good news is that i found out i had the 99 spec turbos from the last owners rebuild when they messed up his turbos. he didnt even know they replaced them with the 99 spec turbos.

High rpm detonation would just toast the motor in short time. But hey, if it somehow magically survived, great news. Did Rick work on the car physically?
