First, you don't need to capitalize sentences. We can read it just fine when you type normal like this...
Second, you don't want to install the midpipe because you will likely hit the fuel cut on the stock ECU, and probably blow your engine with continued attempts at high boost. You can probably install the DP without any issues, however. I strongly suggest reading the newbie stickies at the top of the forum to get an idea of how to treat your FD.

Keep the midpipe off the car until you learn what you are doing. Please read through the FAQ. A midpipe is actually a very serious modification that is taken too lightly by too many FD owners.

Calm down don't panic lol, anyways you need to do a lot mroe reading....You've already started off on the wrong direction with an rx7. BOV is probably one of the last mods that are necessary and if you just liek the sound and like the effect you got the wrong car. Be very careful because any little mistake (midpipe) will cost you. I don't want to be negative or discourage you but its the truth. Search for reliabilty mods, or if you prefer on reliabilty + performance mods at same time. To answer your question you most likely will need an upgraded ECU for various reasons. Anyways, rx7's are great cars if treated right and are worked with carefully. Good luck to ya and welcome to the club.

Go ahead and put the downpipe anything is better than your old pre-cat, but the mid-pipe will cause some serious boost spiking which means no more motor. Get boost & water temp gauges, boost controller, radiator, ast, ecu, fuel pump, bigger secondaries if you want to safely run a lot of power and then go for the mid-pipe and have the car tuned. A mid-pipe is nothing but trouble for your car in the state that it is in.

I am pretty much in same situation...after sitting back researching for a year my goal is 300 rwhp with $3000.00 budget:
Apexi Power Intakes
Boost, water temp, oil pressure gauge
HKS downpipe
Catback exhaust
Apexi Power FC
