Hey guys I just bought a '93 VR R1 which is pretty tight. Just wish I could drive it lol Thanks to the mods that the previous owner did I have to take mostly everything off and make it stock so it can pass smog here in California. Hopefully I'll be able to get it up and running by the end of the month if I don't run out of money from getting ripped by my local mazda dealership for the stock parts. At lest I have the 8 so I can still have have fun with a rotary. Anyway just wanted to say hi to everyone.

Welcome, I bought mine last year, I've allways had mr2's, which can't compare to these cars. It's a good thing you found this forum, I didn't know squat about rotaries, this has been a great resource. I've got some stock parts i.e. intercooler, pre-cat, exhaust, etc. what do you need?

DO NOT BUY EMISSIONS PARTS FROM THE DEALER!!!

Low mileage used cats and precats (if needed) very cheap if you buy in the for sale section. EGR valves, bypass air parts, actuators, solenoids are also readily available used.

REPEAT!

DO NOT BUY EMISSIONS PARTS FROM THE DEALER!!!

This could save you a couple thousand dollars!!

BTW, welcome.

I wish I had found this place first that way I wouldn't have been duped into spending almost two grand for the parts from the dealership. I'll difinitely be checking out this place for more parts when something breaks. Although luckly my friend is a rotar head who is helping me with the installs since my dealer wanted 1700 just for putting on the parts. I already found a couple of efini parts that I have my eye on in the FS section.

Welcome to the forum, unless you have lots of money (to throw away) never bring your car to the dealer, or even a regular mech's, learn how to work on it yourself, more info in this forum that you can immagine.
And don't make you car stock again to pass smog, find someone that can hook you up man, ...
My FD even on her brand new days didn't pass emission tests... lol
