Unhappy new launch kit and I stll have wheel hop

I had petit put on their launch kit on because of really bad wheel hop, but I still have it, just not as bad. Is the kit adjustable? I have new s'03 tires and im launching it at 3k. Does the temp matter, because its still cold here in michigan. Also what is wheel hop from "to much power"?

Wheel hop is from not launching high enough. Much better to burn rubber than bounce your diff off of the pavement. I had bad wheel hop before I put on the K2RD launch kit. I still get wheel hop, but only if I launch low. I've got BridgeStone's or something like that, and launch at 4000 rpm's. I'll get a little chirp and POW!!!...out the box.

Just find a happy medium between the two. Try launching higher, then back it off a little at a time.

jspecracer7 is 100% correct launch higher you won't get wheel hop. you will spin the tire but that's better than cracking your ppf in half

i only get wheel hop when i dump the cluch at 4k rpm, now i just slip it and launch at 3500 and the car just spins for a sec and takes off. i'm using a centerforce cluch.

Dan,

check your PPF very soon. I've got bad wheel hop problemfor a while. Replaced toe links and trailing arms, it's still there. Last weekend when I had AIM Tuning replaced the diff. mount, it turns out that my PPF is cracked.. pretty bad. So, definitely check your PPF NOW.

Agreed, the PPF can break even with a stock motor/turbine's with good hp bolt ons...even the MazdaSpeed PPF can break with the right Torque.
