New FD owner - w/pics
Hi all.. Ive been a member here for years, and have owned my share of FCs, both turbo and non. My last FC was a highly modded turbo, but Ive recently sold them all because I started looking for an FD. Ive always wanted a black R1/R2, and after some searching finally came across the one I wanted, and picked it up last weekend. Its a BB '94 R2, has ~70k miles on the chassis and 20k on a rebuild from rx7.com. Also has a few mods, listed in sig. Future plans are a PFC , BNR stage 3s and IC, and ~350rwhp. The car is extremely clean, both inside and out. Just wanted to say hi and show off some pics, let me know what you think
Pics from my camera with overcast really dont do the car justice, Ill get some better ones as soon as the weather turns nice.

Thanks! Also wanted to ask a quick question. Do these cars usually have alot of traction problems, at pretty much stock levels? Im still running stock boost with my mods, and I have almost new tires ( although not the greatest brand.. kuhmo supra 712s..) and the car does not get traction until 3rd gear at WOT. I just burn 1st even from a rolling start, and fishtail through all of 2nd.

Constant threat
Nice, nice car!
As for the traction....I know that I have trouble with my car as far as traction goes, it will happily spin its Goodyear Eagles under the right conditions, and if it is even marginally wet pavement I have to just baby the throttle.
So I can imagine that yeah, you'll need to be careful to with your setup.
Once again, kick-*** car!

As for my impression of this vrs my FCs.. it just feels like a totally different car. My last FC had JIC coilovers, poly suspension bushings, solid mounts, f/r strut bars, RB swaybars, the whole deal suspension wise. The FD feels as tight if not better as it sits now, even on the wimpy stock 225 tires. I think its wider stance and superior suspension geometry just makes it feel more planted and stable. I havent got a chance to really push the car yet, as Im still getting used to it and learning its limits, but so far Im very impressed with both the handling and speed for just bolt ons. I had it up to 120mph the other day effortlessly. I cant wait until I start modding more, and get some real wheels/tires on there, should be a blast

sold--no longer in debt
Nice.. and the traction thing.. I'd say its the tires. I have Toyo Proxes T1-S (245's) out back and when its dry I hook up fine in first and chirp second (300+ rwhp).

Good choices. Outstanding car.

Thanks guys! Car really is amazing, its weird to have a car that everyone stares at, and circles around in parking lots. I actually have a chance to head to the track tonight for some 1/4 runs, just to get a baseline of what Im starting with. Will post timeslips later tonight.
