New engine, coolant light stays on

Mazda has put a reman engine into my car and has evreything working except that the coolant light comes on as soon as the car starts and won't turn off.

I have done a search and have found that it could possibly be due to a couple of reasons;

1. There is still air in the system, so it needs to be burped and more coolant added.

2. It could be one of the two sensors is faulty. Either the one by the filler neck or the one on the drivers side by the front leading plug.

Is there any more possible reasons why this light won't turn off? Mazda has been looking at the problem for the last two days and can't seem to figure it out. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

the sensor for the buzzer is the big black one at the bottom of the thermostat housing. the one in the block only moves the needle up and down. there are a couple possibilities.

1. sensor is bad. you can test this by taking out the sensor, hooking up a ohmeter or continuity checker. the manual should give a how to.

2. the wiring is shorted somewhere - definitely a very remote possibility

3. they forgot to connect a little black connector that goes from the main engine wiring harness to the ignition harness that the sensor's signal runs through. if this is left unplugged the buzzer continuously sounds. it's hard to miss because the female end only extends about an inch from the ignition harness.

yea most likely they forgot to connect the harness from main to ign harness... or the tip of the wire on the sensor is broken...

For a quick test you can ground the engine harness side of the Sensor connector. If it shuts off the indicator then it is most likely the sensor, if it does not then look to make sure it is connected at the ignition harness end.
