I'm breaking in my new engine and turbos. I'm going the no boost, 3k rpm limit theory until after 500 then increase boost and rpm slowly. Well anyway, I reached 500 miles yesturday and changed the oil. I have an R1 so it holds more oil, I drained the old oil and put in about 5.5 new quarts. When I measured what came out of the pan, it was only 4. So needless to say, I overfilled it.
Whenever I take a turn or stop on a downhill slope, it smokes a lot of blue at idle. It scared the crap out of me, I thought it was turbos leaking. What do you guys think? I have heard that I might have a bad check valve from the crankcase to the Upper Intake Manifold, lemme know your thoughts. Thanks.

I think ur best bet is to take out the xtra 1.5 qts of oil. Not sure about these motors but in a standard piston motor Ive read its not good to overfill..........it causes foaming or somethng like that I believe and that effects flow.

Nice car btw!

Well, I believe the problem is fixed. Turned out to be a check valve. When I pulled off the vaccum hose, there was a loud 'whoosh' noise, there was a lot of pressure in there... Took out the valve, and it was clogged, so I'm popping in a new one tomorrow to hopefully remedy the high oil pressure and blue smoke in the exhaust. L8R

one more thing

Hey bro,
I had that happening too, but I had all colors or smoke.
I took it to my mechanic, he said no big deal just take out the
extra oil in the oil change. BUT he said the pressure can get
really high, and **** other **** up. Mostly O-rings, but checkvalves and **** too. GOOD LUCK
