New Door Light Switches
The door switches are used for both lighting and the alarm system.
When the door opens, the switch makes contact and grounds the circuit to the chassis.
The original ones were cheapy made Protege units. They are now replaced with high grade newer design switches.
The new part number is: LC11-66-540 and cost $21 for two.
These have a large male spade connector on them which is different than original but there is a very easy fix. The original wire connector is actually a large female spade with a large to small male adapter inserted into it. Just remove it and all it good.

Good find, Chuck!
BTW, Mazda did a WAY better job on the FD door switches than the FC. Pretty much every FC has rusty door switches, really crappy design.
