new alt, new battery,new wiring= low voltage

new alt, new battery,new wiring= low voltage
Just installed new 140 amp alt, new , new engine and now Im only seeing between 10.5 and 12 volts @ 1000rpm idle.
Have cut alot out of the stock wiring harness, am running a new microtech ecu harness.
Shouldn't the main power wire from the alt. to the egi fuse supply power to the battery?
Should the alt. be putting out 14 volts?
Any suggestions would be appreciated
