need your wisdom, problems with Idler pulley?

i need some help with my fd. I was on the freeway a few days ago and i thought a loud screeching sound started under the hood. so i exited the freeway and at the stop sure enough, there was a loud screech coming from under my hood. so i opened it, and i suspect the idler pulley, still the original stock one with 80,000 miles under its belt. its very loud, starts as soon as your start the car, I removed the pulley and the bearing is a little rough, but im not sure if thats enough to cause such a huge comotion under load. If anyone can enlighten be i would gladly appreciate it.

if it feels that rough in your hands, think about it at high rpm, you already have it off replace the bearing, one less thing to worry about.imo
