Need turbo timer install help!
Hi all,
I have an Apexi Turbo Timer that I would like to install. I have the wiring harness for it. I'm confused about 3 extra wires that are hanging out of the wire harness. They are color coded red, green and white. Anybody have any ideas what these wires are for?
Please let me know if you have any info.
Thanks,
Jason

red green and white?
on mine (the tiny turbo timer with a/f o2 and voltometer) there is a gray wire, a white wire, and a black wire. white wire hooks into the ecu, the gray wire hooks into the parking brake, and the black wire hooks into a power source.
near the wiring harness there is a small little wire connector sheathed in plastic, it has no purpose, so dont worry about that one.
hope that helps

I HAVE THE BLITZ MULTISPEED TURBOTIMER W/ BUILT IN G-TECH. THE BLACK WIRE IS NOT POWER. THE RED IS ALWAYS POWER AND THE GREEN IS IGNITION. I WAS TRYING TO INSTALL MINE WITHOUT THE HARNESS BUT I BLEW MY IGNITION FUSE SO I DECIDED NOT TO MESS WITH IT WITHOUT THE HARNESS. WITH THE HARNESS IT WAS CAKE. THE WIRES HANGING OUT NOW ARE JUST EXTRA WIRES IF YOU WANNA HOOK UP EXTRA ELECTRONICS IN THE FUTURE, YOU MAY TAP INTO THOSE WIRES....THE ONLY WIRES YOU MIGHT NEED TO HOOK UP IS THE BLACK ONE( WHICH IS GROUND AND SHOULD BE GROUNDED TO A TIGHT BOLT IN THE CAR) AND ONE WIRE THAT GOES TO THE ECU (THATS IF UR TURBO TIMER REQUIRES ECU HOOK-UP) USUALLY DOES IF YOU HAVE ANY KOOL FEATURES ON THE TURBO TIMER. BLACK IS NEVER POWER!!!!!!! ALWAYS GROUND.
