I'm assuming you already read all the links as to what to look for when buying an RX-7. As for daily driving, I'm woefully ignorant. I have picked up a few ideas from reading everything coming through here. Here are my own uninformed opinions.
- If you just do reliability mods, and keep up with the necessary maintenance, the car should be reliable for you.
- needing to rebuild a 3rd gen motor is not inevitable, but you should keep some cash in reserve just in case.
- An FD works fine as a daily driver, but the most important thing you need is ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION. I would hate to be in a situation where my FD was my only car and I flood it as I need to get to the office. An FD is a great second car.
- The FD is great for daily use. Of course, as long as daily doesn't mean those days that you need to buy groceries or any medium size appliance, or those days where you run into snow and ice, or days when it is 100 degrees and you are stuck in traffic, or if premium fuel goes over $4.50/gal and you have to commute to work.... You get the idea.

dhays,
Well right now I don't drive anything and I get by just fine, so I'm just planning on using it as my daily driver for the days I think it'd be handy to drive myself somewhere.
I am considering taking a road trip in it though (I pack really light), so I'm just trying to learn if that's a reasonable idea. From what I've read it seems like not, but I won't let my dreams be crushed until I actually own one.

As for a road trip... I picked up my FD after spending just 1 hour checking it over. I knew nothing about rotaries and next to nothing about engines in general (now I just know next to nothing about both). My son and I picked it up near Kansas City, MO and drove it almost 3000 miles, in the middle of winter, back home to Washington state. The car made it and so did we. We had packed light, but weren't counting on being able to take a box full of stock parts and stuff back with us. It was a tight fit. Even so, it was a GREAT time.
I think an FD is wonderful for a road trip and would highly recommend it. However, don't do what I did and do it before you are sure the car is going to be reliable. I was just lucky.

an rx7 costs about $30000 - 35000, all cars in thailand are expensive, cus of the 300% tax.. but the parts and accesories are cheap.. plus petrol costs $1 per liter for 95 octane..

There is not much you can do internally. You can search the forum for ATF or WATER TREATMENT. However, once you have disassembled one of these motors and tried to clean off the carbon deposits, you'll quickly realized that these methods aren't going to do a whole lot.
http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/3r...injection.html
Premix can help lubricate the internal seals similar to a 2-cycle motor. The car comes with an oil injection system which does this (Oil Metering Pump which works with the Oil Pump).

If the car is stock, the OMP system should be functioning fine. Some owners modify their cars, remove the OMP system and rely solely on premix to lubricate the internal seals.

Yes. You do run the risk of adding more carbon build up by using more oil than is needed for the application.
That depends on the clutch and flywheel combo. If the car is using a lightweight flywheel, it could seem like you have to rev it up to keep it from stalling it. Lightweight flywheels don't have a lot of inertia to get the car moving from a stop, so they require a little more revving to get going.
