ok...i wanna get an FD i have about 4 grand of my own cash and can sell my crappy little celica for maybe anothe 3, but the rest of the money i would need from my parents. Now its hard for me to put up a convincing arugment w/o some facts...what do you guys think i should say in order to get the remaing cash? i will be paying them back... im not that spoiled!

There aren't too many arguments for getting an FD. They're impractical, not reliable, bad on gas, expensive, not safe, have no storage capacity, can't be driven in the winter. If you need to convince someone to loan you money for it, tell them it's your decision, and they should let you make your own mistakes (because they will assume it is a mistake).

Prove to them that you can pay off whatever money you borrow, and do not try to act smarter than them. You're going to them for help, you need to make it look like you need help.

also if i were you, id ask for an extra grand or so on top of the price of the car for relibility mods, imo
