Need some advice with insurance on this transmission

Snap oversteer into a curb 1 year ago. Filled insurance claim had a bunch of stuff replaced. Subframe, wheel bearings, hub, etc...

Well, tranny starts making whining noise with rpms, sounds like card in spokes in neutral, first, and reverse. Vibration in shifter. Happens with clutch engaged...push pedal in noise goes away completely. Let out clutch, no noise until you hit the engagement and then you hear a bearing spin up and whine.

input shaft, input shaft bearing, needle bearings...whatever it is, its INSIDE the tranny and will require a replacement/rebuild. Funny thing is, this is a fully remanufactured by mazda in 2003. Ran absolutely astonishing until it began to make noise few months after the wreck...its slowly gotten worse and now sounds pretty bad.

So, I sincerely believe this has manifested from the intense shock that the drivetrain took when I hit that evil curb and insurance should cover it. We have 6 cars insured by this company and we are certainly not a liability...my car is the only claim on the record in 15 years.

Spoke with insurance and they agreed to pay for any additionaly found damage up to 1.5 years after wreck, if I could prove that it was from the wreck. So I took it to a friends shop and had the adjuster come out and listen to the car...shop owner called me and said the adjuster will not evaluate the car unless the transmission is out of the car and broken down. This will cost 900 dollars for the shop to drop/open and show the damage...once Its out, I'm forced to have the shop install a new one. So more money $$$$ Theres absolutely no promise that the adjuster will decide to approve payment...for all I know I could pay 900 to have the broken tranny pulled out and show the bearings to the guy for him to say...that just looks like wear and tear.

So I"m stuck between a risking 900 dollars to have an entire tranny replacement covered completely by insurance, or I could just eat the money and buy a used JDM and do it all myself. I undertand that the wreck is my fault and I should take responsibility for my actions, but I did pay a 1500 dollar deductable, and it really sucks that this transmission is messed up. I really don't believe I should have to eat this some more...

What to do? Should I try to contact the adjuster personally? Should I offer to drop the trans myself and show it to him in my driveway lol?

I don't want this beautiful car getting screwed over when it could deserve a water injection kit to help it live longer!
