It sounds like they actually did you a favor by not performing the vacuum hose job. That job is significantly more expensive to do with the motor in the car.

As far as mistakes during the rebuild, there could be a ton. Improper seal clearancing. Oil control ring springs upside down or the or-rings pinched. Improper bearing clearancing. Improper installation of the apex seals/springs. Pinched coolant orings. These are just the common mistakes.

I find actual tuning is far easier in an Adaptronic than every other model on the market. I have 14 years experience tuning all sorts.

I will be down doing dealer training at lucky7racing before sevenstock. I can tune your car if you like. I have several to do( up to 7 )
I am not 100% convinced that its the tune though. The car had problems before the rebuild, I am not even sure the engine was the problem to be honest. Something isn't right.

My other friend who installed some new injectors and harnesses accidently flipped a primary and seconday mating plug and hooked it up. he had 2000CC secondaries acting as a primary injector, the car still started and ran (like crap) and literally had fuel coming out of the exhaust. We did some trouble shooting and fixed his wiring problems and the car runs great now (needs to fix an exhaust leak).

Speedjunkie's car is confusing. I am not sure what the hell it is doing...electrical maybe? It's over my head. I am by no means an electrical trouble shooter. The car does not want to start or run at all. After seeing the other car and it being bombarded with fuel and still run, it confuses me what the hell is going on with speedjunkies.

I reached out to him, and got his ECU file and a cranking log. There is nothing wrong there, it must be mechanical. He said he might have a shop try fixing it..

If you look around enough on the forums, you'll find examples of both extremes. At the end of the day, it can be very expensive process to take on the rebuild yourself. I don't necessarily refer to the rebuild kits, but all of tools and measuring equipment needed to perform a quality rebuild. If you don't plan to do this more than once, it may not make sense to invest in those tools. The other piece is that if the rebuild doesn't go as planned, you can damage existing parts forcing the second rebuild to be more expensive.

I'm not saying don't try it yourself, but I saying don't think that doing a rebuild yourself is necessarily cheaper than having a competent shop do it for you. What you may not pay up front, you may pay later.
