Need serious HELP......!! PLEASE..!!

Got another problem with my 93'FD...let me explain..the other day I noticed that the hoses attached to the black colored pressure chamber located on top next to the manifold where reveresed. So I Switched them accordingly to the Mazda vacuum hose diagram. Also about two months ago I checked the check valve on the vacuum hose connected to the boost sensor (MAP SENSOR..located driver side fire wall) and noticed that I could blow air through it from both ends...which of course means failed check valve....but before I replaced it I consulted with my local rotary mechanic and he said that indeed that it was a check valve that went there and he said I could use any check valve to replace it....well I replaced it and the car ran great. Well while I was switching those hoses mentioned above.....I went ahead and put the old check valve back on the boost sensor. And took it for a test drive ...and well the car seem to hesitate a bit and the idel would stick at about 1150 and sometimes drop down to about 800. The car would smoke also at idel it wasn't substantial but it was pretty noticible. So that freaked me out so I put the working check valve back on and also switched back the hoses that I had switched earlier. I then took the car out for another test drive and the car ran alot better but....the idel would still stick but not as often and something else really weird ...when ever at a stop light if the idel was at about 1150 if I depressed the clutch and put the car in third gear and sometimes first the rpms would drop andthe car would die or stall out. also if I depressed the clutch and put in any other gear the rpms would rise from about 850 to about 1200 rpm. What the hell I Don't know what the heck is wrong. I knew I should of left the car alone..but I have this problem or more like an addiction of always wanting to tinker with the car. Oh I also unplugged the ECU to try and reset the ECU but that didn't seem to help. The only thing I can think of is maybe I developed an air leak somewhere...so I'm going to replace both gaskets on the throttle body plastic elbow side and manifold side. I already have a metal gasket on the upper manifold section. I mean the before all this The cars idel would stick once in a while but it would drop down after a few seconds...now it seems to take minutes if it even does drop. So I'm figuring maybe I've gotta air leak and maybe it got worse when I was test driving it. Dunno open to any suggestions......please help....!! Thanks...... Tony

That is not a check valve connected to the MAP sensor it is a Gas Filter.
