Need to replace engine soon

I am going to replace my engine soon and was just wondering the best way to go. I have gotten some quotes for complete replacements and for just installation/labor costs. should I get a brand new engine, rebuild mine or get a prerviously used one?
also when I do replace my engine what mods if any should I do. I already have exhaust and a new radiator but dont know what else to do but I don't want to blow up my engine either. Lastly I dont know if I should replace the turbos with the engine, they are putting out 10 psi still but have 81,000 miles on them. Any information on parts or labor would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

dont buy a used engine... not worth it... if your on budget buy a reman.. you can get one for like $2200 and you get all new parts waterpump flywheel etc.. and turbos.. if you have cash while your engines out.. have them rebuilt like $800 something like that @ a turboshop.. or "if it aint broke dont fix it" If you have the cash though.. do it right

You might read through this thread:

It's very similar to what you are doing.

As for the engine, it depends on what you want to do with the car. The cheapest alternative for you will be a remanufactured engine from Malloy Mazda. With your core sent back, the total cost will be around $2000 however that does not include the removal and reinstall (R&R).

You could ship your car to one of the various rebuilders and have them do all the work for you, but that will cost $$$. If cost is not a problem, then that is an alternative.

As for turbos. If you are replacing the engine, I would take the time to have the turbos rebuilt. BNR has a very good reputation for turbo rebuilds.

Hope that will get you started.
