Exclamation Need quick advice....New fuel pump, aftermarket or stock?

My FD's stranded, so I don't have the time to do the appropriate research and would very much appreciate any advice...

Tried to start the car and it will just keep turning over but never tries to fire. There's a fairly loud click from the rear of the car when I first turn the ignition on. Was thinking there used to be a humming noise from the fuel pump, but there definitely isn't one now. Hopefully tonight I'll be able to check the fuel pressure, but in the meantime, if I have to replace the fuel pump, should I go stock or aftermarket (recommended brands?)? I don't think I have any increased fuel demands at the momement, and no real plans of doing anything too extreme in the future. Car has the usual mods...XS Engineering FC, stage 2 port, Racing Beat intake, K&N, PF exhaust, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Go with the aftermarket fuel pump...trust me, you will need it in the future and you might as well upgrade if you are going to replace it. Relatively cheap compared to most stuff too.

That's been my methodology so far (finally wore out my clutch, so THAT'S finally getting replaced with aluminum bits!). Plus they quoted me around $450 for a stock pump and it looked like I could get a better aftermarket version for less. Is there a preferred source?

Thanks!

Lots of sources, some have used the Supra TT pump (don't know what year) I went with the cosmo 20B pump from SRmotorsports. Pettit and M2 have pumps as well. You'll have to look them up to get their individual flo specs

Thanks for your help guys! I've filed away the info for LATER. After spending much time reading through the forums yesterday, I found the solution. Turns out the thing was just flooded really badly due to me starting it just long enough to move it into the garage! I feel pretty naive for not realizing it was flooded (although then again, I've never had a car flood so bad it wouldn't start DAYS later!), but I'm even more relieved I don't have to get it towed!

Thanks a billion!
